Yes! This would be so helpful! Right now, if one meeting or email occurs, it ends up getting added as an action multiple times (once on each individual and/or organization that was involved), inflating our count of actions, and making reporting difficult.

This would be amazing, and it is something I have been wanting for (seriously) about 10 years now. It would save SO much energy for people - THIS is an enhancement that will have an immediate impact.

Please be thoughtful about how to manage duplicate actions though. I know of many organizations that have duplicated actions on record because the "sharing" functionality did not exist. TEST IT LIKE CRAZY and get users VERY involved so that there isn't a poor rollout.

Yes, this would be most helpful! I end up have to spend a lot of  time putting the same action in three different donors records.

This functionality definitely exists in Blackbaud CRM via entering "Participants" on an Interaction. It's intuitive, convenient, and useful. If it makes sense for the BB large, enterprise customers to have it, it certainly makes sense for us RE'ers.

Thanks Deb. I do understand. I know the idea of multiple votes per user does appeal to some users. Internally, it was hard to tell how many people were leveraging it to really differentiate requests (vs just casting 3 votes every time). In any event, our new Idea Bank platform does not support the concept of multiple votes. I did attempt to answer Julie's question to the best of my current ability in my reply: "...this is something that we have tentatively discussed doing for Actions in RE NXT, although no formal commitments to doing it (or when) exist yet in RE7 or RE NXT." So unfortunately I don't have anything specific to provide in terms of a timeline for when or how we might be adding this feature, however given the recent comments and activity, I wanted everyone to know that we are aware of the feedback and discussing options. I at least wanted everyone here to know they were not being ignored by Blackbaud. :)

How about the multiple votes was a measure of the weight of the problem and should hold some water with regard to putting it higher on the list of items that need attention. Changing the voting system doesn’t move this issue down on the daily frustration scale. I think the question voiced by Julie is – when are you going to fix it? It is still a big issue that needs attention.

Thanks, Jarod. While we are in limbo, can you suggest any workarounds that you've heard other organizations using? For us as a healthcare organization, a lot of spouses have their own constituent records, so the sharing of things like actions (also prospect status, proposals, etc.) is vital to us. And right now, we are in the mode of "taping things together" and it's very inefficient.

I am so excited to hear that this is even being considered.  At long last!!!  I'm going on at least 6-7 years of wanting this functionality.  Thank you for hearing us.  Fingers crossed that the effort is put forth on this because it would be AMAZINGLY useful.

Hey Julie! Sorry I didn't notice your comment back in December! The new idea bank does not allow individual users to vote multiple times, which likely accounts for most (if not all) of the vote difference that you are seeing, however in general, it impacted all ideas roughly equally. So it should not have changed the relative ranking of this idea. More importantly, however, this is something that we have tentatively discussed doing for Actions in RE NXT, although no formal commitments to doing it (or when) exist yet in RE7 or RE NXT. So please know that we do hear you! It's just a matter of balancing what this work may (or should) take precedence over. I personally do like it and it makes a lot of sense to me!

<Knock Knock>  Where are we with this solution. It has over 400 votes on the previous Idea Bank, so the 134 is very misleading. This is something I bump into DAILY.

Where are we on this suggestion? I bang my head on my desk nearly every day over this issue...

Yes, please. It would need to include ability to "soft-credit" organizations too (e.g.) Corporate Foundations; Family Foundations; companies owned by a prospects that gifts flow through; etc.
