I have found Query List to be incredibly useful, even with it's basic limitations.
However, when sorting by name, it uses a individual's first name, rather than last name. This isn't helpful at all, especially if I know the donor by their nickname and not their given name (Bill Smith appearing under W for WIlliam, instead of S for Smith.)
Why don't you just tell it to sort your output by LAST NAME?
Anonymous - in query list there is no such thing! Query list is not the same as query.
However - I think this may be solved in user options if you change your name format to show last, first instead of first last. I have last, first and am able to sort that way no problems.
Thanks, Melissa! That is a perfect solution.
Slightly different issue but close enough that I don't want to start a new idea . . . I would like query list to sort organization names as indicated by the backslash in the name and not by the first word like in query.
Sorting by sort name or sort key will do what you need.
sort name nor sort key do not exist in "query list"
