We use the participation field to show what type of registrant that record is at a glance - guest vs. in-kind donor, etc.  I can either sort by name or by participation type, but when I sort by participation type, it seems to randomly list the names.  I really need the ability to top level sort by participation type, then sub-level sort by last name for my guests, from within the event so that I can interact with the records.  For example, I have RSVP cards that I'm trying to check on within the event to make sure all the information such as meal choice made it into the event so that our query runs properly.  I can't easily do that right now.
