I've known about this issue for years, assumed it would be fixed soon

However, I don't think "create a new record and re-enter all the data" is the correct solution.  I know for a fact that simply removing  the \ character from the string stored in the AnnotationText field in the Records Table in the back-end, will easily fix this without having to go through all that headache. 

Would it be possible for Blackbaud to provide a simple utility or plugin that would address this issue just by cleaning up that field in any problem records?
