One of our research event notes contained a special character which didn’t display properly in our Crystal Reports program.

Patricia Boelte, Customer Support Analyst for The Raiser's Edge, helped us to identify that the problem was in the Export and made a quick video illustrating the difference and what was missing: http://screencast.com/t/ziKVcuDfM

Apparently, only characters with a specified Key Stroke (as shown in the character map) can be entered into The Raiser's Edge. Other characters such as the Latin small “a” with macron “ā” cannot be added (except by cut-and-paste from MS-Word as I had done). These characters when exported appear as a question mark “?”.

Since Crystal Reports should display what we see in The Raiser’s Edge, we request that a programmatic fix be implemented which will provide the capability to display and export characters on the special character map that do not have a specified keystroke.
