Create labelling consistency in Query and Export
In the different Query and Export types fields often have different labels. "Amount" vs "Gift Amount", etc. Often these are different when viewed in the left panel and then moved to the right. The labels (not the field names behind the scenes in the ERD) should be updated to be consistent across all Query and Export types.

Changing the status of this idea to Voting Open because it's been reviewed. While not currently planned, this will remain open for voting and future consideration as a change.
As mentioned in a previous comment, changing the organization of fields to be identical within Query and Export would have downstream impacts that could cause problems for customers' established processes. So this idea represents specifically changing the user interface so that identical fields in Query and Exports are listed with the same field name.
It would also help if in either place there was the option to use the import field name.
I agree with David - import should also match. Or ideally we should be able to choose whether we want to export using Import field names or a longer verbal description as column headers.
Consistent nomenclature across the board, among query, export, and import functions, would make those processes less cumbersome.
to repeat myself - consistency is #1 in creating & maintaining a good database. Should be the same for developers as users. Make RE consistent throughout!
This consistency was one of the "promises" made in the 8.0 redesign. We all know that is shelved. UGH.
It is so frustrating that while creating a query for crystal I can see exactly what I need for the crystal report. Crystal needs an export file to be created. So when I create the export query the fields that were available are no longer appearing in the same area. For example: Gift Queries that pull from the FUnd information to obtain the Distrbution Credit number. The Distribution information is available within the fund information in query but not in the export. Consistency is CRITICAL for my sanity!!!
Sometimes I think BB thrives on causing insantity amongst users. We begged for this consistency of names as well as consistenty of available fields 5 years ago and were told it was an integral part of RE8 in development. RE8 was shelved and now who knows where this in priority.
I believe consistency in all areas would make everything much easier, not just with queries and exports.

I will say that I will be very concerned about this change once they do it (which is why they haven't done it. It would be SOOO helpful but for anyone who has created a lot of functions like custom reports, VBA processes, etc. any back end field name changes could be problematic. These should probably be front end change (query and export field list) only.
