I'd love to be able to know what the basic definition of the export type is before running it and finding that I've selected the wrong one.

Here's an example: I have a multi-field query that needs to be exported to get rid of some duplicate rows. Should I use the constituent export type, which would throw all my data onto one single row? Should I use the gift export type, which would create a multi-row presentation of each field? Depending on which would be better for my end purpose, it would be great if something was available to help me decide before I build it and see that I've used the wrong one for what I want to end up with.
