Setting up a default soft credit rule for an appeal

The example we have is related to a constituent running a fundraising event. Tickets can be purchased through us and an appeal has been set up for the funds. As the constituent organising the event should be credited for everything to do with the event, all gifts relating to the event (and appeal) should be soft credited to him. We can only do this manually which is open to user error and missed soft credits.

    Janet, have you considered setting this individual up as solicitor? Giving him financial credit for all money related to the event is not really the intended definition for "soft credit". I think you'd be better off using solicitor and that could be defaulted in your batch.
