would be useful to have a criteria  or rule in queries/reports where we can use the function of soft crediting for selective circumstances when other conditions apply. For instance Year End Donor report should be able to pull the spouse's donations and combine it to generate the Year to Date total (Mr. + Mrs = combined giving) BUT not to include any other soft credits, per say, acquaintances/contacts/connections/Employer Match linked in another instances of soft credited donations.  My organization cannot have one record per household where it would be ideal for the current setup to work accurately, RE also serves as our volunteer database and each volunteer holds a record (dilemma for a Mr. and Mrs. case), the soft credit function would be limiting either  activating or disabling it.  One way or the other, totals would not be accurate with the current setup.
