When opening a constituent record, it is displayed in the centre of the screen. You can move it using the navigation bar, but the next record goes back to the centre again. Can it be set to hold the position you move it to i.e change default position
If you use the arrow buttons to navigate (ie thru records in a query), the window will stay where the previous one was. But I completely agree, not having everything open centered would be ideal.
I'm really surprised you haven't done this. This is very easy to code and it causes your users no end of aggravation.
Can it also be programmed to remember the size I like? I do not want it maximized but I often widen the sides to the maximum width.
Yes. Adobe does this with PDF files. Outlook does this with email messages. If I move or resize these and then close them the next one always opens in the same place and size as the last one I closed.
This is a huge pain for us. We use PaperSave (but I am sure it applies to other programs as well) and we set up a queue for adding documents to records. In theory, you can set up your queue then search and add, search and add, search and add... But in reality you can't. The search window gets in the way and you have to re-size (which often requires windows to be too small) and align all of the windows just right to keep from having to move the box each time so that you can confirm that you document matches your record. Or use a double monitor.
When opening a query or record it opens full screen. I have an extra large screen and I need to have it open minimized to the size I need. This has been possible in the past but now everything opens full screen and won't remain minimized the next time the item is opened. Wastes so much time when having to arrange these screens each time.
