If the primary address (or frankly any address) is an org address, the name should show when you open the address record and on Bio 1. It is irritating that you can fill it in and make it primary but you only see the full address (yes, the org name is part of the address) when you print or export. Hellooo!
Quote from my director "It is driving me batty that I cannot see the business name with the address. I don't care about the address but I can't see where they work."
This is interesting as I posted a topic regarding the way RE designed the mobile app. It pulls preferred and primay business address. It is as if it assumes your preferred is always a home address for a constituent.
What really is RE's best practice on addresses? Is Primary Business address in RE viewed as informational only as if when we run a mailing report we would select whether we wanted to mail to their home OR their business address? In reality, we need to mark the Primary Business address as preferred if this is where the constituent wants to receive mail. This seems to be an issue with address design.

This is an ongoing problem for our organization - users really struggle with the whole concept of having the position and organisation name completely separate from the Addresses tab and Bio 1 tab, but part of the address when we do mailings.
This is probably the #1 problem that makes end users nuts at my organization.
Absolutely! Years ago, we made it out policy to enter the Org Name as Addr 1 and uncheck the Print Org Name with Address box - it helps users when they're searching for corporate supporters without a full address (e.g. Mike Smith, Barclays Bank) because they can see the company name in the search screen, or when they're not using Address Processing for whatever reason, but it invitably mucks up the linked addresses and we're now reaping the whirlwind of companies that have changed address over the years but their contacts addresses have stayed the same. It drives everyone mad!
