Sometimes we have donations that should be receipted, but which are currently on hold - either we wish to consolidate receipts at a later date, or we have to wait until the donor advantage for an event is calculated. If these donations are in a batch with other donations that are ready to be receipted right now, we currently have only two options: we can either give them a temporary Receipt Status of "Do Not Receipt" - but then we have to remember to go back later and change them to "Not Receipted." Or we can give them the correct Receipt Status of "Not Receipted" - but then these gifts will show up with the rest of the batch when we run the receipts. (It's not easy to exclude selected gifts from being included when running Mail.)
The ideal solution would be if there were a fourth Receipt Status called something like "Not Receipted (On Hold)" or "Receipt on Hold," which would cause the donation to be treated as "Do Not Receipt" and therefore not be included when running the receipts. But it would clearly flag these donations as requiring a receipt at some point, so that when we are ready to issue receipts, we can do a search for these donations and change the Receipt Status.
