In 7.92 when adding a new constituent record, the duplicate search screen allows you to mark the newly added record as "not a duplicate" to pre-existing records - this will exclude these records as possible matches in the duplicate constituent report. Add the functionality to mark two existing records as "not a duplicate" to exclude from the duplicate constituent report.
When you access the Constituent > Duplicate Search function, a window appears listing the duplicates. This is very similar to the popup when saving a new Constituent, but is missing one important feature - the button for "Selected record is not a duplicate" is missing.
This would be helpful as a manual way of marking false-positives, but not practical when reviewing a large duplicates report.
Perhaps the Duplicate report could be displayed as some kind of control and not a static Crystal Report to allow us to do this kind of interactive marking? Make the small popup a bigger visual tool with a column of checkboxes to mass-mark false positives.
YES!! This is needed so that the Duplicate Report will be more meaningful. Right now, our report has over 3,500 potential duplicates. I would like to flag many of these as not being duplicates so that is this report will be more meaningful. Otherwise, we will always have to sift through all the non-duplicates. Great Suggestion!
I agree! Every time we run duplicate reports, we spend hours sifting through the same non-duplicates looking for the few possibilities that aren't. It would save a lot of time and make the duplicate reports we run far more efficient!
Agreed! There has to be a more time efficient way to mark existing constituents as not duplicates instead of opening and editing the record before the "this is not a Duplicated" tab can be selected.
I think this issue may be covered under some of the other discover topics regarding the new 7.92 duplicate search system, but good to see this specific issue/suggestion listed.
Constituent > Duplicate Search seems broken in 7.92 (even with Patch 6). It doesn't find duplicates that show up on the Duplicate Report (or even some blatant exact match dupes).
Definitely agree with Peter Gulka - having the duplicate report as an interactive report where you can bulk-mark records you know aren't duplicates with each other would be a great help. What would be most useful, though, is to still have the self-select duplicate criteria. Our report isn't identifying constituents whose records are duplicates in every field apart from their first name initial (in other words, they are husband and wife but not marked as such). Even if it flagged these records up for manual action that would be a start.
I think this capability already exists. I think all we need to do is create a relationship type of "Not Duplicates" and link the two records together with this relationship and reciprocal. I'm not experienced with the duplicate processing so I may not understand the issue. If so, my apologies.
Marian, I do not see how this would work and prevent these from appearing as duplicates in the duplicate report ever again?
I swear I saw this before but now I cannot seem to access it. I agree that this is necessary we just got out database and with only 27500 constituents we have 1700 duplicates. I can't go through all of those on a regular basis.
