Search by Gift ID when Opening Gift

When opening a Gift from the Records page, you can search by Constituent details, but not by Gift details, even though it's a Gift that you are searching for. To prevent duplication, I always incorporate external agency unique IDs in Gift ID. This should also enable me to open a Gift based on the external agency unique ID without having to use Query.

Agree! The gift searches leave a lot of fields out and NXT's search bar won't pull gifts at all, so there's no good alternative

We too incorporate external unique id's into the Gift ID when importing gifts from outside sources. It would be much more convenient to be able to search by the gift id when looking up gifts. This is especially so when comparing gift info from an outside source to RE.
Also, I use Gift ID when making note of a gift that I need to follow-up on, so it would be useful if I could use the gift search window to search for it later instead of having to open a query to search for it.
Not having the Gift ID in the gift search window is akin to not having the constituent id in the constituent search window.
