add gift ID to journal reference options for posting from RE to FE

We're trying to find a better way to collaborate/tie in with our Finance department; would love to be able to include the gift ID in the posting journal reference AND also add this option to the constituent record search (rather than having to launch a query to find specific gifts by gift id)

    Our Finance team is having the same issue and I think this would help tremendously to reconcile gifts in RE and FE. Seems like a fairly simple programming issue to add this field to the existing field options available for the ledger description.
