Allow recurring gifts to draw down pledges.

We have several folks that would like to make monthly recurring gifts towards their pledge. It would be great if a recurring gift could be set to draw down the pledge amount and simplify the process instead of having a pledge and then creating a separate recurring gift.

    I know this is an older topic, but our donors are now wanting to pay their pledges in monthly installments via recurring gifts. If this could be revisited, I know it would help us clean-up our database and honor donor intent/expectation if recurring gifts could be applied to pledges....

    Agreed, pledges would be so much easier if donors could set up pledge payments online. We've had so many confused donors setting up recurring payments thinking they'll pay off their pledge.

    YES! We have folks set up recurring gifts through our website with the intention to pay down their pledge, which creates a messy database since we cannot apply those payments to their pledge. (Yes...I understand the difference between recurring gifts and pledges, but to our donors all they know is they're paying a set amount regularly).
