Allow us to apply recurring gifts to pledges
Some of our donors fulfil their pledges by using a recurring gift. We would like to apply these gifts to the pledge (as well as getting all the benefits of using a recurring gift). I can't see this idea anywhere, but feel free to let me know if it's a duplicate - I'd be surprised if we were the only people who wanted this.

YES! We need this! We have donors to make a pledge at our events, and then go online to set up a recurring payment with the intention of fulfilling their pledge. In the end, because the payments cannot be applied, we often have to write off the original pledge and sort of manually track their progress toward the pledged amount.
If a pledge is keyed and a recurring gift charges the credit card each month to pay towards that pledge, then I have to delete the gift after it has been committed through the batch and then rekey it so it can apply to the pledge. I am about to enter a new pledge like that and will have to manually re-enter the gift every month for the next 18 months. As you may be able to guess, that is a frustrating thought.
I'm confused - what do you mean by 'benefits of using recurring gift'? If you mean just having regular say monthly payments, we use those to play pledges all the time.
