This would enable you to easily query on the current consent status of a constituent without the need to have both an opt in and opt out solicit codes. Having both positive and negative solicit codes is messy and quite confusing. It's much clearer to keep solicit codes as just what the constituent does not want i.e do not email, do not post etc. The current consent status record would have no end date and therfore be easy to identify.
