We should be able to mark a spouse as a solicitor without adding them as a separate record. In some cases, the husband is the one who interacts with our organization and gives the gifts, but the wife is the one who has the contacts to procure more and larger gifts for us.
Interesting idea but not realistic for use in database to us. While we have the situation you describe we also have cases where both spouses are solicitors. If the spouse is not a constituent, they have no RE ID and can not be linked as solicitor for assignments or reports. We give them each a record. I don't see how RE could be programmed to report assignments/money raised etc unless spouse has an ID which basically gives them their own record and relationships.
My 2 cents.
I am with Joann on this one. If the non-constituent spouse is doing anything - being solicited, etc. Full record. Full Stop.
