Pledges should be automatically marked as "Completed" when the last installment is committed and the balance is zero. Status Date would be the gift date of the installment payment.
It is more efficient to automate this process rather than running a query to identify active pledges with zero balances and then updating the records. Since pledges have payment schedules, RE should know when the last installment is being processed.

Automatically change pledge status when the final payment is made.
Merged When the final pledge payment is made on a pledge, the status should automatically be changed from Active to Completed and add the corresponding date. This would eliminate the step of having to go back into the pledge manually to change the status...0 Shipped

Merged I am not sure why this is not already a feature. The pledge should not remain "active" once you have received the final payment. This would benefit everyone who queries on pledge status.0 Shipped

This has been released in patch 25 for RE 7.96. Please note, this doesn't include automatically acknowledging gifts, but does mark the gift as Completed when the pledge is paid off, or marks it Terminated if it's written off.

Yes I agree! Donors should be sent an acknowledgement email once their pledges are paid.
