Currently we're unable to narrow down solicitors in export by "current solicitor". Current solicitors in our database have blank end dates, but not all have beginning dates. In effect, we have to export it to excel, sort and remove solicitors with end dates (who may be current staff solicitors at our organization but are no longer soliciting that particular constituent - but we want to retain for historical purposes). Every time we generate a mailing list, constituent export, etc. it becomes a problem that takes extra time to cleanup in excel. A Blackbaud Analyst suggested we build a query to remove them prior to export, but that's a function that should be built directly into the Export screen so we can narrow down and include only current solicitors. 

We're already using the Solicitor Type field, but the only other work-around we can think of is to precede the Solicitor Type name with "Current" or Past" and globally update our database to fix all existing constituent records with solicitors.

It would be even better if the assigned solicitor screen in the relationships tab of the constituent record included a check-box for "primary" or "current" (as some constituents have a primary staff solicitor and secondary board/committee solicitor) and then include this in the Export screen as a way to narrow down only current solicitors.
