I do know there is a way to get rid of soft credits from queries, but since for most queries you do NOT want to see them, it would be faster and more convenient to have a button on the criteria page like the "Include deceased constituents" button. If you want to generate a mailing list, you usually don;t want soft credits. If you're querying donor gift totals, you don;t want soft credits. If you are querying for totals for events, appeals or campaigns you don;t want soft credits. I would dare say, the default should be that you do NOT have soft credits showing on a query unless you check a box to reveal them.
