There should be an easy way to pull (canned or by query) all the new donors in a specific time-frame. I'm running into donors who were soft-credited for gifts in previous years being pulling into the report, and there isn't a way to exclude soft-credits from previous years. This is such a basic need it's amazing it's not possible.
