In RE when searching on a constituent, we have a checkbox to search the Alias field as well. In the NetCommunity transaction area of RE, when the system searches for an auto-match this feature is NOT there.  

So these two parts of the system are working differently, and in some ways we have built some reliance on the Alias field to help us match up records.  

This now explains why we have SO MANY duplicate records created during this process - because we can't leverage the Alias field to help us in our searching.

Please consider making the Alias field avaialble as a search criteria in this Transaction area.
