Constituent IDs disappear in uncommitted batches for merged records

Update the constituent ID in batch (that has not been committed) with the merged ID. Ths will avoid staff having to review each entry in the batch to ensure each entry has a constituentID. Query is not available for batch so it's difficult to check. If a batch is committed without checking for the Constituent ID, the gift does not get saved in Gift but no error message is shown to the user.

I have no idea what you are talking about. You can not merge within batch so I do not understand what you are suggesting.

When we merged 2 records, the one that was merged was in an uncommitted batch. We had to search for the new ID as the original Constituent ID was no longer available. I'm wondering if during the merge, the constituent IDs in uncommitted batches can also be updated so staff do not have to look for the record again. This will save time. Maybe Blackbaud Support gave me incorrect information.

Do you run a validation before committing your batches? Does it not catch this?
