This would solve a TON of issues. Is there a way to query on this info even? If there is, someone respond please. I haven't stumbled across it yet.

Yes - please add date last changed to the new 7.94 RE phone types!!! We need to update other systems with this critical information (emails, cell phones, etc) and need date last changed so that we don't overwrite more current information in other systems. The separation of phone types from address makes great data structure sense! But it also begs the same great common sense to treat it as it's own entity with data created and last date changed. Please add during the next bug fix of 7.94 as I suspect there will be some being such a new and significant change! We would like to go to a hosting environment which will require we go to 7.94. We may not chose to go to a host environment and/or go to 7.94 if we can't query on phone types by date entered and date last changed. Seems to contradict the purpose of such a change.

Yes - please someone respond! This significant change should have included data added and date last changed!

We have phone numbers that are seasonal in our database, just like the addresses, and now that info is lost. :-(

What I would like to see is in the Phones table a few more columns created. One or two for the Date (Date Added) or (Date From / Date To)
another column for Info source the same way the address has an info source.
Even better would be 3 or 4 user configurable columns to allow the Admins to create or change what additional data is stored for each phone/email/link
Personally I would have Date Added, Last confirmed, Date made invalid and Info source. This would provide vital information when pulling data for Phone/email appeals and provide a great method of rating the reliability and quality of the data.

Good idea on adding a notes field, this could be very helpful as you describe. However it shouldn't replace a "date last changed" field which would be automatically updated upon changes and clean and easy to query on

I think a notes field would be good, looking at the other comments it might also help people like Heather bellow by allowing a Seasonal Phone number note to be added.

I still think that a Date From and Date To would be very useful when trying to reconnect with lost Alumni it would be good to know which phone number is newest to call it first. This also applies for emails, we currently allow up to 4 emails to be stored, a Primary, Alternate, Personal and Business. A date added field would help when the primary email bounces to try and reconnect via the next most recently added email.

James, that is a "step" in the right direction but is full of potential human errors. Like forgetting, entering the date wrong, etc. Having a system default date last changed, just like the address tab, is, to me, the best solution and will provide the most accurate and searchable data.

A comment field would be most helpful - especially if it has more than 50 characters.

Love the notes idea!!! But not as part of the audit trail to keep track of the date. There needs to be an actual date field for that.

Would strongly encourage adding a separate date field as well as the comment field, especially if it could be auto-populated with today's date so that when adding a phone/email the date field would at least reflect the date it was added. The user should be able to change this date, but a current problem with the address date is that people forget to populate the date from field.
