The 'Date Last Changed' column in the Phones section of the Raiser's Edge has proven to be disadvantageous for our users. Any time any little thing is changed such as the phone type or a comment is added, the date changes, but subsequent users have no idea what changed. Users are confused because they make the assumption that the phone number with the most recent date is the most recent phone number, but this is not necessarily true. It makes it impossible when doing mass data cleanup to determine which phones and emails are the most up-to date. We have data integrating from other systems and it would be more useful to have a static 'Date Added' field. It would also be helpful to give db admins control over what columns appear (ability to hide if not using) and to be able to sort the columns by the headers such as by type or by comments.
