Convert Registrants to Guests

Add the ability to convert Registrants to Guests. Currently you can only do the opposite. We have an event where there are a lot of guests of a Table Captain who register and pay for themselves online. In order to move them to guests of that Table Captain I have to delete the automated Registrant record created and add a new Guest record for them. It would be so much easier if their was a convert option.

And of course the option wouldn't be available if they still had guests linked to them.

Yes, I would like to voice that it would be EXTREMELY helpful if an option was added to convert a registrant to a guest of someone else. It is not efficient and useful for our staff to spend time deleting the registrant and then recreating them as a guest. It should be a function already in the system to convert them to a guest. Please please consider instituting this. Thank you.

I agree. I import lists of invitees for all of our events. It becomes rpoblematic when someone purchases a table, and one of their guests was already imported as an invited registrant and also has their spouse imported as an invited guest of theirs. Truly tedious fixing this after tickets go on sale. I am really curious to know what BlackBaud's best practices are on the subject---not put anyone into the event as invited or sponsors until after the event is over? Defeats the purpose of tracking invitees, event donations, seating, etc.

PLEASE! do this. Since BBNC does not allow for organizations to create a sign on and we have schools and other organizations who attend our events, we are required to manually fix all the registrants to guests. This involves adding the org, then adding the guest (not linked to the cons record because we do not allow duplicate registrations) then deleting the registrant, going back to the org record, opening the guest record, linking to their cons record and linking any gifts that are paying the fees. Cumbersome, cluncky and OUTDATED are understatements
