Where an event registrant books a guest, two participant records are created: a registrant and a guest record.

If the guest is unaware that they have been included as a guest and proceeds to register - the guest's participant record is replaced with a regoistrant participant record. And the guest link is removed from the original registrant's participant record.

In this scenario any table planning will miss that these two participants are related and will seat them separately.

The guest will not expect to be seated with the original participant - but the original participant will be disappointed to be seated separately from their original guest.

How can this be avoided?
