View Write-offs on the Gift Tab. I would like to be able to see another column on the pledge record. 1) Pledge 2) Balance 3)Write-Off. Example John Doe makes a pledge of $100. Be pays $25 and we write-off the balance. The colums would show. Pledge $100 Balance $0 write-off $75
Also - would like to see that a pledge was "Over-paid". Right now, if the pledge was created for $50 and they decided to give $75..we have to enter two gifts. One to satisfy the pledg eand one for the addl $25. This is not efficient for Accounting as we balance gifts $ and date to our accounting deposits each month. Finance is looking for $75 when the pledge forced us to break it up.
You do know that you can change the gift "color legend" to change the look of pledges with write offs. I have mine changed to add a suffix of -WO to pledges with write offs.
I'd like write-offs not to be considered "gift" by query.
(P.S. I know how to exclude them, but every time I do write-offs reports get funky. And duh, a write-off isn't a gift. If anything, it's an UN-gift.)
I second Nicole Apolo's suggestion that we should be able to see when the pledge was overpaid. Right now, I just increase the amount of the original pledge, but that doesn't provide me with an accurate trail then of what the pledge really was.
I agree with adding a Write-Off column under the gift tab, rather than having organizations create a "work-around" to be able to see the donor's full giving history.
