I am frustrated that an overhaul has not been done on exporting Proposal data. It would be nice to export active proposals and not have to deal with the out dated data and waste time manipulating the exported data for our volunteers. Please update ASAP!
Proposals in general needs an overhaul in the exporting arena.
More robust filter function in EXPORT or just even switching it from purpose to active/inactive. This would benefit in performance of an area or goal for what is perceived recent proposals by leaders that digest these reports. This will become an issue if not addressed do to the limited number exportable proposals in the future if some organizations haven't already started to experience it.
Additionally, correct the way solicitors are attached to proposals. When exporting gift solicitors they are separate of each other. They are all lumped together separated by semicolon. This could benefit many organizations by making this correction in the way the data is stored as they could then produce more performance-based reports. In the current state an end user has to select themselves and their peers in a parameter based crystal report filtering on their activity.
By correcting the above issue regarding solicitor storage on proposals. You create a more streamlined report that is a single filter if only one enhancement can be chosen that would be my selection.
I voted for this. It would be very helpful to make certain categories on an excel sheet. Raiser's Edge is a very powerful tool, but at times it can become a very frustrating one.
We've noticed the problem now whereby only Proposal is available in Actions added on NXT (as Campaign and Fund won't be available for a while), while Proposals can not be selected as criteria in one-to-many filtering on Export. Until this is fixed it doesn't allow us to filter by the one measure that Fundraisers are adding their Actions to in NXT.
This so many times. Whenever I export this I have to export multiple proposals per constituent to make sure I catch the ONE I need, and then cut and paste columns. It's a mess and my giving officers are frustrated. Please fix this.
Yes!! This has been a thorn in my side for a while now. Need to be able to quickly identify in an export, who has active proposals, who received a proposal for a specific purpose, etc. It always pulls inactive proposals and irrelevant proposals, and I have to do a ton of manipulating to the spreadsheet to get what I need.
PLEASE - I need this for export. Excluding inactive proposals would be a start but we need to be able to filter on something other than purpose - come on! Status - anything.
Agreed. Currently, I can run a Proposal Analysis Report on all proposals to our board members sorting by fund with a break between each fund, which is great, but I can't sort the constituents alphabetically beneath each fund. So, under Annual Fund Proposals, the order could be Smith, Jones, Arnold, Romney, Obama, Arnott, Pujols, etc.
I was told by support that the way the report is currently written, this cannot be done.
Anonymous - there are hundreds, if not thousands of suggestions on this site. The ones with higher votes are most likely to get considered for implementation. BB typically does 1 major update a year and it may implement only a handful of new things in an update. I, too, wish this suggestion were getting more votes but it is not. There is only so much begging that we can do.
Yes - I would love to be able to manipulate canned reports (e.g. add a "Preferred State" column, in order to sort by state for each solicitor). Alternatively, if there could be more filtering options on the exports, that would be AWESOME - for example, I would love to filter exports by campaign, but I am not able to do that right now.
Absolutely! When I run a Constituent Export, I sometimes need to export active proposals. The only criteria offered is to filter by Proposal Purpose. But generally, I don't need to filter by purpose - I need to filter out proposals that are complete, or that are a few years old. So what I need is to be able to filter the output by Proposal Status, or by one of the date fields. As it stands, all I can do is export every single proposal - which takes a lot of columns and exports lots of useless data. A change to this would be very welcome!
Additional filtering when exporting proposals would be very helpful. The current lack of filtering is incredibly frustrating. Many constituents have multiple proposals. Filtering by all proposal fields would be helpful but anything would be a step in the right direction. It's strange that RE is so limited here.
I am voting for and commenting on all of the items folks have submitted on this issue (and there are many). Proposals are the key to working in RE successfully. Not being able to choose criteria on any other field except Purpose for Proposals is really frustrating and completely mystifying. It must be a really hard thing to fix in programming, because it seems SO BASIC to the functionality of the program. Thanks.
I wish I could vote for this issue 1,000 times as this is the biggest source of frustration for me as well. I pull all the performance metrics and summaries for our fundraisers. Proposals are a huge, HUGE part of how our fundraiser's track their performance. I don't understand why the proposal records aren't engineered like the action records...

I'm shocked that we cannot filter on Proposal Status in constituent exports.

I see these comments were made OVER A YEAR AGO! When will this issue be resolved. Makes exporting proposals IMPOSSIBLE!
