Query dates based on "Today" instead of using Fuzzy Date

I've seen ideas using this for a specific field (birthday etc). This would be helpful for scheduled emails based on any date of today over years. Providing 2 versions of Today(this year) or Today(any year) would make it easy to differentiate between possible action dates gift dates etc. or Birthdays and anniversaries that may have happened in previous years.
Help us automate processes. :)

    Fuzzy dates don't even work for us on a simple Query for us is it pulls out other random dates. Blackbaud can't explain or solve at this stage as they can't even replicate on their database. The wrong dates are really random and not even related to regional settings.
