We generate eReceipts to donors when we process installments of their recurring gifts. Currently, the attached PDF is their acknowledgement letter for their tax receipts. The email itself is just a general message that says an installment was processed, please see the attached receipt. We would really like to improve the email itself (not the PDF) by including merge fields like the donor's name. Even better, it would be great to be able to just build the eReceipt itself in the email and not have an attachment.
I'm not sure if this has something to do with which RE version you have but we use RE 7.98 and ereceipt does have merge field of Addressee(donor name), gift amount, gift date, receipt amount etc.
I agree that it would be great to merge and build the ereceipt in the email.
