I think there are plenty of people here that would agree that the RE Events module needs a serious facelift. Here is my short list of dysfunctionality:

• Seating chart auto scrolls to the top after seating/unseating a guest
• Runs very, very slow with a lot of data (number of registered guests)
• Participant types do not sync with OLX
• Lack of a table room style layout or visual for creating a map of tables in a room
• Lack of reports that will create useful guest lists

There are some Apps available now that, although they do not sync with RE, do a very good job of managing event guests and seating.

I would like to suggest that as Blackbaud revamps the Event module, take a look at the functionality available in some of these apps and try to incorporate some of the features available:
