It would be awesome if we could add a Media File or files to a group of records. For example, a group of donors and staff are going on a field visit of a refugee camp. I wanted to add the documents I created for the meeting about this trip, ideally to the Action of them meeting. But I'd settle for being able to Globally Add Media to a group of records. Thanks!
I regularly have to add letters sent by our Principal to groups of constituents - currently this is really time consuming. Please consider global add for media.
Please do allow for Globally adding media! This would help us so much!
I want to be able to clean them up!!
I have hundreds of records where the Media Type is "SCAN" and they should be several different things.
I can ONLY change them manually. I also can't change the descriptions except manually.
Please add these options to Global add and Import (so that we can export, clean up and reimport)
The original post was to globally add media records which I can see would be useful. I then posted that for globally adding actions, being able to include links to media would also be helpful. Looking at the bigger picture - adding links to media files in any comments or notes section throughout RE would be ideal rather than having to go to the media tab.
Agree that globally adding actions to include links to or source files such as pdf would be ideal for mailings such as newsletters, flyers, brochures, appeals, etc.
I agree with this, however long ago i was posted. I want to record a mailing that we have just sent out to all our branches- I have copied and pasted the letter into notes but wanted to append a copy of the flyer that was sent out also but this is a pdf file so cannot be copied and pasted. It would have been helpful if you could do a global add to the media tab...Any suggestions otherwise of a way around this?
Amna, what I do for this is to put the Mailing in RE as an Appeal, and then put a Media Record of the letter, flyer, etc. on a Dummy Record. In the Appeal Record and sometimes also in the Comments field for the Appeal Tag, I'll indicate that the documents sent are on the Dummy Record (which for me is ConstID 4561231...I have a series of Dummy Records for different purposes).
Hopefully with RE:NXT, we'll have the ability to add Attachments (the NXT version of Media) to Appeal Records.
Also, if the letters have handwritten messages, I'll scan them and either put them on the Media Tab for the actual Constituent (if there aren't many) or put the scan of all of the letters on the Dummy Record (instead of a scan of the mail merge template).
