Add Media tab to Appeals & Campaigns
We would like to be able to scan a copy of our appeal and campaign publications/materials into the Appeal or Campaign record. Would that be possible if a media tab was added to these records? That way when looking back at a successful appeal from 5 years ago, we can see the materials that were used including letters, brochures, etc.. Thanks!

I have a hard time believing the reason given of "bloat" of the database slowing the application. Modern versions of Microsoft SQL Server do an excellent job of storing OLE and BLOB data. Furthermore if the end user chooses to link instead of embed the Media file then the attached file never touches the SQL database. Embedding the file in the database adds no more "bloat" to your overall server system than linking the file. It's the same amount of data. A file system is just another type of database. Yes, there are fundamental/historic flaws in how RE handles OLE data that need to be modernized, but that doesn't fit with the explanation given.

Hey there. I love the idea! Unfortunately this isn't something that we will be adding in RE7 for a variety of reasons, including the fact that media files in RE7 are stored in a way that has the potential to bloat the RE database and slow down the application. I will say thought that this is something that we have already added to RE NXT web view, so in general we totally agree with this feedback and have already done something to address it in the latest version of RE.

Yes, please! Just like you can add Media to Event Records, I would really like to be able to add to Appeal Records. Actually, if there could just be a Media Tab on every type of record, that would be best. (already on Constituents & Events; needed for Gifts, Actions, Campaigns, Funds, Appeals, & Jobs)
