When processing online payments in a batch, I would like to have a prompt notifying me of outstanding pledges just like when I'm manually entering gift batches. I don't always know who has made a pledge, therefore I don't know when an online gift needs to apply to a pledge. There are three in my office using RE so this would help all of us when we may not have communicated about new pledges.
My workaround at the moment is deleting donor name and retyping it. That way it pops up the option to apply it to a pledge if there is one... this is ok for now, but certainly not ideal, especially when processing a large # of gifts. Having a feature to automatically flag pledges in some way would be super helpful!
Just voted on this - as my client I'm working with today encountered the same issue.
My recommendation to her, as a work-around, is that after the data populates in the batch - to go row, by row, and select the "Apply to" icon to see if there is a pledge on the constituent record. It's a hassle, but at least will allow for the linking to take place from within the batch.
I haven't tested this - but when you do the 'apply to' it may not bring into the batch the campaign, fund, appeal from the pledge (like it should) because the OLX form would already have a fund populated (which may not match) so be aware of that as you might need to revise the camp/fund/appeal in the batch after linking.
Good luck!
