When importing DeceasedRecordFinder info in the Data Health Center, an attribute is added to the record.
I would like the option to "check" if I want to also mark these records as Deceased with the import. As it is now, I have to query the attributes and do a global change on the Deceased checkbox afterwards.
I think this would be helpful too, although doing a global change is not that painful of a process, having the check box option would be an extra perk though
I prefer the query and global change method. I would like to query and review whether VIPs, assigned prospects, employees, board members, etc. are being marked BEFORE they get marked.
I would like it to work similar to AddressFinder, batchmode or interactive. I think changing the records is a second step we shouldn't need (we use import and include the date).
I just think the science behind the data is not good enough to go directly into the deceased field - it needs scrutiny. Mrs. John Smith will get marked if that is how she was entered into the system (which I admit she should not be) but so also could John Smith, Jr. if he also has had the same address as the father.
This would need to be optional. How would you handle it if they have a spouse who is still living?
It's so odd that this doesn't exist already! It would be additionally helpful if the date of the death could populate in the appropriate field in the bio tab. I think it should be fairly easy to allow you to filter by whether it's "unknown" or not.
My office ran DeceasedRecord Finder for the first time ever last year. I studied the instructions really hard since it was my first time going through the process and I never caught that there was that additional step of running the query and reviewing the results. This means that nothing ever was done with last year's data. Ever. Now I find that we are bumping into people that came back in the file that we should have marked whose spouses and family members have received mail from us since that person died. Not good.
Agreed! Additionally, I want the date of death to go into appropriate field! It's mindboggling that Blackbaud's own product doesn't mesh correctly with Raiser's Edge,
