In Query pick up a Pledge Payment (not the pledge) as a First Gift

I want to run a query of "first gift" during a time period and have it recognize someone's pledge payment as their actual first gift. I can easily delete any pledges it picks up from my exported spreadsheet, but I can't capture pledge payments to recognize them as gifts. Help!

    You can do this by altering your query to look at cash and pay-cash gift types and to exclude pledges.

    Nicole, I've tried that and it didn't work. I can easily exclude pledges that way, but RE still isn't seeing the pledge payment as a first gift--in the database's mind, the pledge is the first gift and the payment is gift 2.
