The "Consecutive Years" Report in Raiser's Edge "Analytical Reports" allows you to calculate consecutive years on a fiscal year basis that is not a calendar year basis. It also allows you to specify which funds and gift types you want to count toward consecutive years. The problem is that one cannot even find "consecutve years" in the Export module under "Gift Information--Summary Information." We want to export consecutive years to equal what the Report module allows us to calculate, but this is currently not possible. You can find these fields in Query module, but when you try to export our of the query, it will not allow you to select date ranges for the fiscal year or the funds that you want to count. Exporting out of the query will only work on a calendar year basis. Ideally, these fields should be made available in Export and allow one to set parameters such as fiscal year date range and funds to include. Not possible to get the correct values out of either Export or Query. Should be able to get out what the Consecutive Years Report allows us to calculate. In our Annual Report, we place a value after each donors' name indicating the number of consecutive years of giving in addition to their giving level. This must be done by hand (error prone) from the correct Consecutive Years report, adding an extreme amount of time and mistakes to a process that could be so simple IF we could just calculate it properly in Export (after you make the fields available). Also, while you can select parameters in Query (the proper fields are available in designing the query) you must add every single year that you want to count in the consecutive totalling, rather than just one year as in Reports. For example, in Reports, if you put in 7/1/11 through 6/30/12, it will calculated the total consecutive years including this one year and all preceding years that are consecutive. In the Query, if you put in only one year, the result will be invalid. You must put in (in our case) a date range of 22 years (which is the total history available to us since we first used Raiser's Edge on June 30, 1991. Please help us on this so that we can prepare Annual Reports in a much more expedited fashion, directly out of the data already contained in each constituent's record. Your help is much appreicated.
