Yes! Something needs to be done about the 1995 accessibility of email in Raiser's Edge. This is also embarrassing. It's frustrating that it seems you have to purchase an entirely new product (Net Community or whatever else) when the capability already exists in the Raiser's Edge.
To piggy back on this idea: It would be great if RE had an email merge capability. I have 100 donors who wishes to receive their acknowledgement via email. It would be nice if I could just email merge these instead of preparing one by one email.
I totally agree - it's ridiculous that RE doesn't have this. Yes, you can send emails separately to the gift entry, but it's hardly a sensible and efficient way forward.

We get complaints from donors who would rather get them via email to save on postage but when we have sent out an appeal letter or at EOFY its VERY time consuming to do this per person.
I agree. It's a waste of time to have to print out pledge reminders and mail through snail mail. Unnecessary postage as well. Please consider this. Seems silly that with all the capabilities, this is not one of them.
Email needs to be one of the address options for all of the mail functions such that if an email address exists, use that, if not then go through the snail mail address selection options.

There is already the facility to email receipts, but it is desperately required for Donor Acknowledgement Letters. See also
