Separate Data Fields for Unit/Apartment, Street Number, Street Name, Street Direction, Rural Route/GD, PO Box, etc that are then displayed as an Address Block. These Fields and Tables should be across the platform and meet US, Canadian, and UK Postal Service Address Standards.
I can see a few instances when what you described would be advantagous, but I do not want to have to tab to a new field in records or batch to enter each of those parts.
Also see issues with importing data as those parts are not separate in addresses we import and may or may not follow address standards. Couldn't just split address field easily and get them correct.
Sorry, can't vote for this one.
I think that this should be brought into the discussion on international addresses. This may work for the countries you mention but for other countries there are whole other issues. I also agree with Joann that because this is standard for the US most importable data is going to have it together - unless import can take it and parse it properly - I would not vote for this one.
The issue for us is our Universities and large Companies. The shared address part should be 123 Main Street. The unshared part should be BOX ###. That way when an address changes for the organization, the main address would change and reduce the amount of returned mail we get because the addresses that we had to unshare due to the silly box number issue.
