Adjust font or view settings Merged

I have difficulty reading small fonts on the computer, but I can't adjust the font sizes or the zoom level(s) of the windows provided by the program (Raiser's Edge). It's tiny to look at, and the white background aggravates my photosensitivity (light sensitivity in my eyes).

Very frustrating. Especially since some of the windows can be maximized, but nothing changes size-wise!

What is the solution? I have been experiencing this issue since I was upgraded to a new laptop and Windows 10 Pro.

I've been waiting for this for years. I used to wear regular glasses.  15 years later I wear tri-focals……

We have just moved to the hosted environment and agreed the font and display are ridiculously too small.  This is a major concern and needs to be addressed by Blackbaud.

I can hardly read the font it is so small.  I wear trifocals & am struggling.  Please enlarge.

We have issues with new super high res monitors on tablets. If users open the Raisers Edge on the tablet the font is so small it is unreadable....I'm talking minuscule. This is not a problem for other applications on the tablet. (MS Office, web browsers etc.) Constantly changing the screen resolution should not be the solution that users are expected to before and after each login to RE. Don't know if it matters, but we are in the hosted environment.

I agree - I really struggle with the small font in RE and am unable to change it without skewing all the settings elsewhere on my pc. Please can something be done about it?

Hi Amy, I do not use this myself but windows has a high contrast setting that will change all backgrounds (including RE) black. Pressing Left Alt, Shift and PrtScn buttons will switch contrast modes...... this is on Windows 7, I don't have a XP machine so I'm not sure if works on that.

Some of the default colours are not great but they can ben changed in control panel to something that suits.

    Right on! Extremely annoying.

I am unable to ready the small print and to make the font size larger. The characters do not have straight lines but are ragged pixels. This is extremely hard on the eyes. Thank you for considering to improve this problem.

It would be nice if we could change the actual font type as well.

I would doubt that we would be able to change the font - often font is part of the "brand" of a software. Size on the other hand I definitely agree with.

I cannot understand why Blackbaud is unable to offer this simple improvement. The ability to adjust font size should be a "given" on any software this expensive. Especially in one that is considered the industry standard.

    Hey, anybody out there?

It is possible to increase the font size, but it will increase it for every programme - word, excel, Raiser's Edge, etc. That is what I have done and find it works very well.

We need the ability to change to a larger font in Raiser's Edge. As we transition to Windows 7 64 bit we have to keep monitor resolution small (fonts small) in order to see all the real estate (all the buttons that need to be clicked.) It is causing eye fatigue for data entry folks.

We can keep discussing font sizes all we want. Clearly, Blackbaud has no intention of doing any thing about it.

Be careful when dealing with the sizing on your computer. The one that allows you to "maginify" your screen has implications on RE. I have mine set to 125% and A) my login screen is all wonky and has a bunch of blank space to the right and bottom and B) the search screen behaves badly. When you search you now get 2 and a half entries that show in the window instead of 2 and when you click the 1/2 an entry at the bottom it moves up and so you have to move your cursor to do your "double" click or else you wind up selecting the 4th entry in the list.BB knows about it, they just are not likely going to fix it just for those of us with older eyes.

I'm 25, do not now, and have never had glasses. I find the font, colour, and font size painful after as little as 15 minutes. I'm often doing hours of data entry. Blackbaud doing this would instantly allow me better use of the system, and I'm sure less support calls. When I tried to increase the font size and was successful with typical microsoft programs it had absolutely no impact on RE.

The non-scalable font on Blackbaud is a problem that affects efficiency and accuracy.
Not important enough to merit a response from Blackbaud, apparently.
    Good to know.

This would be great as we have a legally blind staff member who really struggles in RE
