Bring back XLSX file format for exports

We have many processes we do externally from RE that require us to export data. We have now lost the ability to export data to the XLSX file format. Blackbaud says this is due to the dis-integration of Microsoft Office at the end of February 2022. Their suggestion is to simply use XLS (Excel 97-2000) or CSV formats. However, we have run into a number of issues.

1) We have existing processes that now all have to be changed because of previously mapping to XLSX files. This is creating tons of unnecessary work on our end.

2) XLS has limits on how much data can be exported from RE. We can't export large data sets.

3) CSV truncates data with leading zeros (like ZIP codes), as well as import IDs that do not contains hyphens.

Again, this is creating a vast amount of unnecessary work. Since this is just an export feature (not launching a Microsoft application), I'm unsure why the removal of the integration makes a difference here. We need this functionality to be restored ASAP.

    • Use csv

    • The data is still preserved. Excel will, in fact, have the leading zeros in the CSV. However, if you double-click the CSV to open it, Excel will drop the leading zeros when it re-imports the data.
