Changing the status of this idea to Voting Open because it's been reviewed. While not currently planned, this will remain open for voting and future consideration as a change.

Please note, this idea specifically represents a user login history, based on the title and description. If you'd like to vote for a change log for fields across the database, please see https://re7.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RE7-I-5885.

It's 2019 and I still do not have easy access to this information. It could easily be a column on the security tab of RE NXT.

Please someone make it easily accessibly to see when a user last logged into RE & RE NXT! For internal audit purposes and good stewardship of data, administrators of RE should have access to this data!

We really need to be able to see who changed a particular data field - not just who changed the overall record.

It would be best if the title and description for this item was updated.  We don't just need login history!  We need a full history log that indicates what field was changed, by who, and when.  I know in Salesforce administrators can even select which fields they want to track changes on, and see what it was before and after the change.  Blackbaud, please do research, and you will see that this is an absolute necessity, and a feature of current, state-of-the-art software.

This would be very helpful as would a report showing the number of logins for all users so we have some sense as to the engagement of users.

Wow I thought something like this would just be part of the system by default. How many votes do we need for there to be action.

I would like to see not only when the last time a given user logged in but a way to report on what changes the user made, if any. Right now, I can see that a certain person made the last change to a specific record but not what they changed. I would like to be able to print a daily log of ALL changes made to the database and who made them for tracking purposes. This is not a matter of monitoring users - it is a matter of trying to back track and determine who made a specific change so that we can find out why that change was made. I have asked users to make a note on the record of when and why they made a change but I don' t often find out about a change until it causes a problem. If the user remembered to add the note, I can track it back. But, as I'm sure most of us know, that happens less frequently than we would like. I'd love to have a report that I could review a couple of times a week, or even at the end of the day, and see what has been changed so that I can catch possible issues before they escalate into a big problem.

It would also be helpful to see the connection time a user was logged in. The lenght they remain in the application and the idle time for the login connection. Kinda like what you can see when using a citrix managment console tool.

we recently expanded our user base. we now have more than 90 users who access our db on a regular basis. especially during a learning period, it would be helpful to have this information available to ADMINS only.

This would be very helpful. The only way I can do this currently is to ask our IT to provide the report.

We are trying to revise policies/controls regarding user access and would like to have a record of the user's last login to determine if accounts should be removed or marked inactive. Would be helpful to at least see last login on the RE side of things

As an IT security function this would be very helpful

Agree. Being able to see the last time an account was used allows us to more easily manage and remove old accounts that are no longer needed.

This is so crucial and every organization that uses RE needs to have this.

I can't use RE to track whether my development staff are using the system or not, and if they are, that they're doing it properly! It's extremely frustrating.

While I like that you can see who created the record and who last changed it, how are we supposed to know what happened in between? How do you hold users accountable for what they're doing? Answer: You can't in RE.

This day and age, we need that kind of history. No excuses, no reason not to have it. To me it's common sense to have a history of passing hands with records. Adding actions or notes to do this wouldn't suffice. This needs to happen.

This is a must for standard database management. A top of the line product like RE this should absolutely have this.

As this request is almost 3 years old, I'm not certain of the likelyhood of it being accomplished, however I'd like to reiterate the IT security side of this. We'd like (read: NEED) this for auditing purposes.

Agreed! This is very frustrating and I only have to deal with 2 other users with real use time in the database. I can't begin to fathom what it means to the person with 90 users! It would also allow me to release more data entry type portions to those persons if i could at least see what, when and who changed something.

Oddly, this information has been kept in RE since version 7.90 in 2009. You can find the information in the LOGINAUDIT table in the SQL database. I'm not sure why they haven't developed a way to see this information without having to use RODBA or the API.
