We have some contacts at organizations who are married and have their own individual records. When we mail them as individuals, we want to use Mr. and Mrs. Smith, e.g. as the addressee/salutation, but when we mail them as a contact for the organization, we want to address the contact as Mr. Smith, e.g. The information in the contact/relationship record is pulling the addressee/salutation info from the individual constituent record and it is greyed out so users cannot change it like we can address, phone and email info.
We have the same issue! I have individuals set as Primary but some orgs have multiple primaries they want to receive emails/communicaitons/etc so when I export I have to manually move them over in my lists to be in certain columns and takes a lot of time! Or change the full Foundation/Org name to be Friend rather than the full name that looks kind of awkward as a salutation in a letter
Agreed! We often have constituents who give personally and professionally and should have two different addressees and salutations. Organization contacts should have their own addressee and salutation as well as the individual constituent. Thank you!!!
This was not such a big deal for us until we began to use NXT. Now I'd like our fundraisers to be able to add their own contacts (individual relationship records) to organization records on the fly. But if the new contact is already in our database as an individual record, then the two records should be linked. And if the individual record also has a spouse, then the fundraiser should go to the individual record and add an additional addressee/salutation for use when the contact is being mailed to at their organization. This is more data entry than I want our fundraisers to do.
