For the event module, donors should have the option to make just a contribution to the event (since there are cases where people are unable to attend the event but would like to support it). As it stands now, the event module only allows for contributions to be made in addition to a donor registering for an event. This makes the entire event form of no use since there will be a need to redirect people to a regular donation module form for those who want to make contributions.
