Link media to gift
We are now in a completely elecronic filing system, and enter a Media record with a scanned copy of the gift paperwork as well as the acknowledgement letter before it is mailed.
I would love to have the ability to link the media record to the appropriate gift record, and to be able to run a simple query that lists gifts entered that do not yet have the media record entered. (Because I do gift entry from home, like today, and can't scan until I'm back in the office.)

Hey there. I love the idea! Unfortunately this isn't something that we will be adding in RE7 for a variety of reasons, including the fact that media files in RE7 are stored in a way that has the potential to bloat the RE database and slow down the application. I will say thought that this is something that we have already added to RE NXT web view, so in general we totally agree with this feedback and have already done something to address it in the latest version of RE.
No problem! And I hear you on the current state. We are actively working on the ability to add and edit gifts in web view. At that point I hope you find the Gift Attachments feature useful!
Thanks for the information Jarod. Unfortunately, this does not help much as most of the gift processing is done in the database view. If gift processing can be done in the NXT view, I would love to know. Thanks.

Hey there everyone! I noticed the recent comment so I wanted to drop-in and just mention that we have actually done this in Raiser's Edge NXT. There are no plans to go back and do this in RE7 at this time, but I wanted you to at least know that the request/need has been heard and we have considered (and addressed) it in our next generation solution for Fundraising needs.
I absolutely agreed. It would be amazing for us to keep copies of the checks in the gift file so we don't have to keep a paper copy.
This should be an easy fix! It would also be nice to be able to link a specific contact at an organization to the gift.
Either make a way to link media from the media tab to the gift OR add a media tab to the gift record itself...
I think this option would be perfect in the Miscellaneous tab with the notes section!
We scan in our invoices for gift-in-kind services and pledge forms as well. This is then linked to the Media tab. It would be extremely helpful when accounting is asking for documentation on said gift to have the gift linked to the media. We use the media link in Prospect for proposals and such and it makes it very smooth process for having all the information on a transcation in one area.
We are also working on document management, and this would be a great way of handling gift and pledge backup paperwork.
Most organizations use media to add grant and gift agreements. It makes the most sense to link these like you do on the proposals!
