Yes please add addressee and salutation to organizations! This would make our life much more simple!

We often run a query of gifts which includes both organizations and individuals. This query is then used for mail merging thank you letters. However, because the salutations for the organization (i.e. the contact's name, not the organization's name) are not in the same place as for the individual (they're in the contact's record), we can't use the salutation field in the mail merge. Thus the need for the salutation tab in the organization record. I think this is an important upgrade that is sorely needed, whether on uses it or not.!

An organization is not a "person" that you can have an addressee/salutation for. I don't understand your post at all. People associated with an organization are added on the organization's Relationships Tab/New Individual Relationship. If they have their own free-standing constit. record, they are simply linked to the organization, and if they don't, you can type in their name, etc. and fill in the appropriate add/sal on that non-constituent relationship record to send mail to them. Don't forget to check off that they're a contact. I suggest you create add/sal TYPES of "Contact Addressee" and "Contact Salutation" in configuration/tables and make certain to always assign these in addition to the primary add/sal info on your records if someone gets their mail at an organization address.
