Users spend a great deal of time selecting columns and setting the column widths for their particular needs and preferences. After an upgrade all this work is lost when everything goes back to the defaults. There should be a way for a user to export these settings to a file before doing an upgrade and then import them after the upgrade is complete. I realize that some saved settings might not be importable if a new feature affected the component, but it would be better than everything defaulting back to the delivered settings which is what happens now.
User settings being wiped out after a system upgrade is a bug that needs to be fixed.
YES! I use 24 columns fields on the gifts tab and always have to add back 20 fields and reorder them after every update! This is VERY annoying and can be time consuming. Leave the settings alone!!
Yes, now we are hosted we lose our custom columns if our profile gets corrupted and needs to be reset - which has happened the three users in the last 5 months. Annoying to have to reselect the columns for each tab, I wish I could just copy them over like I can with the other user settings in Security.
